The Oscar-nominated Brooklyn has been so well-received, and we’re sure the multitudes of fans will be delighted with this latest update.
According to ScreenDaily, the producers behind the film Amanda Posey and Finola Dwyer have made the decision to pursue a TV adaptation of the John Crowley-directed film.
The producers had the idea in mind before the first draft of the film script was written, and it is going to be centred on the boarding house where Saoirse Ronan’s character Eilis stayed when she arrived in New York.
They are confident that film legend Julie Walters will reprise her role as Mrs Keogh and are in talks with the BBC drama department.
Dwyer and Posey are currently scouting writers for the project, but it won’t be beginning until the film has been released on Blu-Ray and DVD.
Considering the entertainment value of the dinner table scenes alone, we’d definitely give this one a go.
