British Gas have pissed off a lot of people with their David Bowie tribute tweet

A terrible display of social media. A beautiful display of friendship.

Today marks the one year anniversary of David Bowie’s death.

Many fans have turned to Twitter to mark the occasion and again reflect on the singers life.

British Gas jumped on the bandwagon and sent out a tweet that has caused offence to many of Bowie’s followers.

It’s been called tacky and insensitive and many have pointed out the incorrect hashtag and poor grammar.

The tweet remains but the original poster and his colleagues are replying and apologising to each complaint.

Laura in particular, is instrumental in coming to Paul’s defence and it’s kind of cute.

Poor Paul is having a terrible day but his colleagues seem to really love him.

And they won’t have a bad word said against him.

And sure it’s a really bad example of social media.

But what a wonderful display of friendship.

So yeah so it may have started off pretty bad but Paul has emerged as a true hero.
