Unless you’ve been living under a rock you’ve been watching Netflix’s Making a Murderer.

For anyone who’s finished the show, or at least gotten to episode 8, you’ll know that Steven Avery was found guilty of the murder of Teresa Halbach despite evidence suggesting he was framed by the Manitowoc County sheriff’s department.

Viewers have been angered by the conviction and left confused, especially as the series revealed so many jurors initially believed Avery’s innocence.

Now the filmmakers have revealed that in the aftermath of the show, they’ve been contacted by an original juror.

Appearing on the TODAY show filmmakers Laura Ricciardi and Moira Demos said a juror from Avery’s case admitted they believe that Avery is innocent but the jury voted guilty as they feared for their personal safety.

“(The juror) told us that they believe Steven Avery was not proven guilty,” Ricciardi said. “They believe Steven was framed by law enforcement and that he deserves a new trial, and if he receives a new trial, in their opinion it should take place far away from Wisconsin.”

If a new case is granted, the juror said they’d be willing to act as a source.
