Sky Movies has announced that they will be changing to Sky Cinema.
This new change will mean a better viewing experience for customers, along with more selection and cheaper prices.
Apart from the name change, the biggest update to the movie service sees a new premiere being added every day, meaning the selection is constantly fresh and current for the audience. Furthermore, there will be an even
Furthermore, there will be an even bigger library of on-demand films, more pop up channels as well as better HD picture and sound quality, which the company says will take us one step closer to the cinema experience.
Sky Cinema will be getting new released movies eight months after they have been in cinemas, which is a big difference from other movie providers who will then receive the movie after 2 years, once Sky has the initial rights.
Of the big releases from 2015 for example, Sky got the rights to show 45 out of 50 of the top blockbusters, meaning that for 2 years afterwards those movies won’t appear on any competitor site.
Sky says the update will see some key feature changes as well as including an ability to restart any movie, which means customers can watch films from the very beginning no matter what point they switch on.
They will also be reducing the cost for current HD customers as HD will become a standard feature for all customers.
They will launch the new improved Sky Cinema on July 8th and will hit the ground running with a selection of great movies available every day in July and August. Included in July are, Spectre, Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation, Ant-Man, Minions Movie, Crimson Peak, Strange Magic and The Walk.
While August will see the additions of the likes of Star Wars: Episode VII The Force Awakens, The Man from U.N.C.L.E, The Martian, The Good Dinosaur, Hotel Transylvania 2, Suffragette and The Perfect Guy.
Speaking about the launch, Ian Lewis, Director of Sky Cinema, Europe said:
