The pair confirmed their relationship at this year’s Met Gala.
Please Please Please say it ain’t so…
Barry Keoghan and Sabrina Carpenter have ‘decided to take a break’ from their year-long relationship.
A source told People: “They are both young and career-focused, so they’ve decided to take a break.”
The pair were spotted together in late 2023, and seemingly confirmed their relationship as they posed for photo’s at Vanity Fair’s Oscar Party in March of this year.
The couple also featured in a Vogue video which followed their Met Gala preparations.
Additionally, Keoghan starred in the music video for the six-time Grammy nominee’s hit single ‘Please Please Please’.
Speaking to Variety, the 2024 breakout star called Keoghan ‘one of the best actors of this generation’.
“So getting to see him on the screen with my song as the soundtrack made the video better and all the more special,” she added.
The 32-year-old actor was seen supporting the ‘Espresso’ singer at her performances, including her opening slot at Taylor Swift’s ‘The Eras Tour’ earlier this year.
Split rumours began circulation in October, but were quickly put to rest when the Dublin man was spotted at Carpenter’s ‘Short n’ Sweet Tour’ in the US.
The ‘Saltburn’ actor also appeared on Louis Theroux’s podcast in November, which further squashed any signs of a breakup.
When asked if he was dating the singer, Keoghan said he was ‘incredibly blessed’.
“Listen, all I’m gonna say is, yeah. I’m incredibly blessed,’ Barry said with a grin, ‘[She’s] such a strong, independent lady who’s massively talented and… yeah.
“Very special,” he told Theroux.
