Amy Schumer, Bill Hader and Judd Apatow are coming to Dublin next month.

The trio will be in town to make an appearance at a special screening of their new film, Trainwreck.

Trainwreck is Knocked Up director Judd Apatow’s fifth feature film as director-producer and stars Schumer as a magazine writer enjoying what she feels is an uninhibited life free from stifling, boring romantic commitment.

In actuality, she’s in a rut and when she finds herself starting to fall for the subject of the new article she’s writing, a charming and successful sports doctor named Aaron Conners (Bill Hader), Amy starts to wonder if other grown-ups, including this guy who really seems to like her, might be on to something.

Apatow is renowned for introducing new comedy voices into the mainstream and Emmy award nominated Bill Hader, a firm favourite on the US hit show Saturday Night Live for eight years, is also well known for his roles in Superbad, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Adventureland and Tropic Thunder.

The screening is being organised by Universal and Dublin International Film Festival and Festival Director Grainne Humphreys said she is looking forward to meeting the actress.

“2015 is proving to be the year of Amy Schumer, a pistol smart satirist, a Facebook feminist, a sassy screenwriter who has film friends in all the right places. She has clambered over her fellow comedic peers to ascend to the throne of this year’s Comic Most Wanted and the Dublin International Film Festival is delighted to welcome her and I can’t wait to meet her!” said Grainne Humphreys, Festival Director.

“The Festival is proud to work alongside Universal Pictures to present Trainwreck, maintaining its position at the forefront of bringing the most engaging and terrific guests and films to the city, and Trainwreck will be no exception.”

The Dublin International Film Festival will return from February 18th to 28th.

Tickets for Trainwreck’s August screening for Trainwreck are €11 and will be available now to purchase here.
