More new movies to look forward to landing on Netflix.
Since the pandemic started movies which were due to be released in the cinema this year have had to postpone their release dates or else the distributors have decided to go straight to streaming services like Netflix.
Amy Adams’ highly anticipated new film, The Woman In The Window, is coming to Netflix very soon. The film was supposed to be released in October last year but the release was obviously cancelled because of restrictions.
It has just been announced that The Woman In The Window will skip waiting for a cinema release and will land on the streaming service “in the first half of the year”.
The Netflix thriller stars Amy Adams as Dr. Anna Fox, Julianne Moore co-stars in the film as her missing friend Jane Russell. Other members of the cast include Gary Oldman, Anthony Mackie, Fred Hechinger, Wyatt Russell, Brian Tyree Henry and Jennifer Jason Leigh.
The Woman in the Window is based on the A.J. Finn novel. It tells the story of Anna who is an agoraphobic psychologist who can’t leave her house because of her anxiety. Anna basically only sees the world from her window, if anyone arrives on her doorstep she sends them away.
She ends up making friends with her neighbour, Jane, who she then sees get attacked in her home from her window one night. Anna reports the incident to police but then Jane turns up and she’s a completely different person… that’s when things get interesting.
Amy Adams is tipped for an Oscar for her role as Anna in this captivating thriller. Critics and fans are convinced that “this role will win Adams the Oscar she finally deserves.”
One fan wrote “Oscar campaign for Amy Adams has started”. Another tweeted “I just want to watch Julianne Moore and Amy Adams hang out for two hours.”
