The climax of the awards season has arrived…

And it’s the year of the Irish as our chances of bagging a statuette are more favourable than ever.

Both Lenny Abrahamson’s Room and John Crowley’s Brooklyn have been given 4 and 3 nods respectively, with Lenny also nominated for Best Director.

Saoirse Ronan (Brooklyn) goes head to head with Brie Larson (Room) for Best Actress, and Michael Fassbender is in there for Best Actor in Steve Jobs.

Stutterer by Irish Director is in there for best live action short.
