In the lead up to the most anticipated TV event of the century, fans of Gilmore Girls wondered who of Rory’s past lovers she would end up with.
Would it be Dean? The first love and the old reliable. Or would it be Jess? The sultry but endearing writer. Or would it be Logan? The billionaire.
Well as it turns out it was neither, unless you count an international affair as a romantic encounter.
In fact, Rory is in a relationship with the potentially lovable Paul.
Paul is charming and clearly very attentive but big mean Rory won’t give him much attention. In fact, she continuously forgets his existence and instead hooks up with Logan when she’s in London because “when we’re together, we’re together.”
The relationship has been criticised as being totally out of character and really disrespectful to Logan’s fiancé.
Bledel who plays Rory revealed that the affair did shock her.
"It did surprise me," the actress told
ET. "And I think it's a little uncomfortable for Rory even though she's kind of putting on a brave face that she's fine with it. I think she's actually not that emotionally connected to it. I think she's kind of just going through the motions at this point when we pick up with them."
Matt Czuchry who plays Logan defends the storyline.
“Rory and Logan have always had a love for each other that has gone back and forth, and they've never really wanted to say goodbye. They're both in the same place at the same time in this particular story, so it's a mutual relationship that they're carrying on," said Czuchry.
