A very simple nod to the situation.
It’s been a few days now since Donald Trump was elected the President of the United States. (That is painful to type.) And you’ve more than likely still not gotten over the shock of the fact that he actually won.
One group of people who aren’t shocked are the writers from The Simpsons, although it seems they wish they were.
You will probably know by now that a 2000 episode of The Simpsons predicted Trump’s victory.
In the episode, Lisa is the US president and says while sitting in the Oval office,”We’ve inherited quite a budget crunch from President Trump,”
In the latest episode of the cartoon it seemed impossible to ignore this fact but also too soon to really delve into an episode about it. So they decided to be subtle in their nod to the surprising turn of events.

In the opening credits Bart writes the words ‘Being right sucks’ over and over on the blackboard. We bet it does suck Bart, we bet it does.
