This could make things very difficult.

This could make things very difficult.

Coronation Street is never short of a scandal and big storylines, but this real life news could cause serious problems for the show.

It has been reported that a new tram line is being constructed and that the line will run very near the show’s set.

The soap’s bosses are worried that the new train, which will pass through the area could cause noise disruptions. The noise created by the movement of the tram as well as speaker announcement could cause issues during filming.

Corrie bosses moved the set to MediaCityUK in Salford in 2013, and it cost 10 million pounds. They say that they had no idea about plans for a tram line at the time.

ITV made a plea to transport secretary Chris Grayling to use an alternative route for the new tram, but he argued that avoiding this area on the route would not offer the same level of benefit, according to Manchester Evening News.

If the tram does go ahead, the Soap writers have plenty of time to find a way to write it into the storyline, as it won’t be going ahead until 2020.
