Hallelujah, the weekend is finally here!
And that means three things, lie-ins, brunches, and most importantly catching up on all the TV you've missed during the week.
So to help make your weekend viewing even easier, we have selected some of the best shows available now on
Sky Box Sets. You are going to want to binge watch all of these immediately.
Cancel your plans, get the blankets ready and settle down for an evening on the sofa. Pure bliss!
The Affair
Oh my God! If you haven't watched
The Affair yet then where have you been? The show, which is set in Montauk, is all about, yes, you guessed it, an affair but it is so much more than that. The story is told through the perspectives of the two main characters, one female, one male and from the beginning it is very clear that there is a mystery afoot. Season 1 and 2 are on Sky Box Sets now with season 3 coming on November 21st.
Gomorrah
Based on the book
Gomorrah by Roberto Savians, the show is set in the suburbs of Naples and focuses on organised crime, drug dealers, gangsters, and ordinary people. Think
The Sopranos meets
The Wire and you're probably in the right vicinity.
Gomorrah will have you gripped from the start meaning you will probably have to binge watch the first series in one sitting. Oh well...
Scandal
Shonda Rimes has done it again.
Scandal is a political thriller starring the gorgeous Kerry Washington. Set in DC, the show is all about Olivia Pope's (Washington's) crisis management firm as well as all the shenanigans in the White House. It's the perfect way to unwind after that whirlwind American election.
Billions
Bobby Axelrod (Damien Lewis) is a billionaire with a picture perfect family, a multi-national company, a lust for power and zero scruples. Chuck Rhodes (Paul Giamatti) is a district attorney who's out to get him.
Billions is a gripping drama with a healthy dose of property born thrown in for good measure.
Sex and the City
At this stage, it's a classic. There is nothing more comforting than curling up with a familiar show and
Sex and the City ticks all the boxes. From relationships to fashion, it really has a bit of everything. We think it's about time you paid your favourite New Yorkers a visit. Is this the weekend you finally binge-watch the entire thing? YES!
The Blacklist
This crime thriller TV series is absolutely huge in the states and it's not hard to see why. The show tells the story of Raymond Reddington (Red) an ex-Navy officer turned hardened criminal. After decades on the run, he hands himself into the FBI on one condition, he is given immunity from prosecution if he helps them hunt down all the criminals on his 'black list'. Oh, the drama! Sky Box Sets just added the new series last week so it's the perfect time to get your teeth stuck into it.
Nashville
Even if you're not a big fan of country music, you still should give
Nashville a chance. Set in Tennessee, the show is all about stars trying to make it in the music business. Expect drama, plot twists, heartbreak and song in every episode. Plus it's got our favourite
Bring it On star Hayden Panettiere so we are pretty much sold.
Penny Dreadful
Do yourself a favour and watch
Penny Dreadful. Seriously, just put it on, sit back and enjoy the amazingness. Set in Victorian London (eh, hello? How cool is that?) the show follows explorer Sir Malcolm Murray, American gunslinger Ethan Chandler, scientist Victor Frankenstein and medium Vanessa Ives as they try to combat supernatural threats. Supernatural threats people? Unreal!
