Zayn Malik has spoken about his daughter publicly during his first interview in six years.
The singer shares a two-year-old girl named Khai with ex-girlfriend Gigi Hadid.
The couple parted ways in October 2021 but are said to be still “very much” in each other’s lives as they co-parent their daughter.
Speaking on Alex Cooper’s Call Her Daddy podcast, the former One Direction singer gave a rare insight into life with his daughter.
He said: “Since I’ve had my daughter, the main thing in my mind is trying to be a good example to her.

“That’s why I’m even doing this interview, you know? I used to get a lot of anxiety around having a conversation like this. And I want her to be able to look at me and be like, ‘Yo, my dad’s doing this.’”
He went on to say that he has changed so much since becoming a dad, and said: “I keep being told I’m telling dad jokes. And I’m leaning into it. I’m just like, ‘It’s OK. It’s cool.’
“People just look at me like I’m a weirdo, and I’m like, ‘Yeah, I’m a dad, I’m allowed to tell these jokes now.
“There’s a certain point in adult life where everything is vague and grey and boring and she’s brought that colour back for me for sure.”
Zayn left One Direction back in 2015 before going on to release his first solo album a year later.
Zayn first began dating Gigi in 2015 and it was on and off for a few years before the two rekindled it in 2019. They then welcomed their daughter in 2020 but the romance wasn’t to last.
