Our favourite ‘Girl Dad’
Zayn Malik has made the decision to stay single in order to focus his energy on being ‘the best dad’ to his two-year-old daughter.
The former One Direction star welcomed his daughter, Khai, with his ex-girlfriend, Gigi Hadid, in September 2020.

This was Zayn’s last public relationship, as the pair went their separate ways in 2021 but continue to co-parent, and he has no intentions to have another romance anytime soon, according to his mum, Trisha.
Speaking to the MailOnline, she says any future dating is now halted as her son’s “energies are focused on being a good dad” to Khai and his work, and “that’s not going to change any time soon.”
“He’s a wonderful father, very caring and loving, and devotes a lot of time to his daughter. It’s what gives him the most pleasure in life,” Trisha, 53, said.
The 1D alum’s other most public relationship was with his former fiancée, Perrie Edwards, who he dated for four years – and was engaged to for two – before ending their relationship in 2015.
Zayn, 30, was also allegedly linked to Selena Gomez this summer, but it is believed that any romance was short-lived, and she has now unfollowed the Pillow Talk singer, as well as his ex-girlfriend Gigi and her sister Bella.
While acknowledging Zayn’s good looks and touching on the fact that many women are interested in him, she explains that “none of that interests him at the moment.”
“He’s not even in the dating game,” she said before adding: “It’s all about Khai and then his work.”
It seems things are going well for the Dusk Till Dawn singer, and his mum even describes his co-parenting relationship with his ex as “working very well.”
“They are both wonderful people and parents,” Trisha added while also praising Gigi and alluding to the idea that she would’ve liked to see the former flames go the distance.
“She’s a great girl; I’m still very fond of her, and it’s a pity that things didn’t work out for them, but that’s life.”
The Let Me singer’s mum also revealed that she is planning to fly to Los Angeles next month to celebrate his granddaughter Khai’s third birthday.
While hearts may break everywhere to learn Zayn is decidedly off the market, we applaud his attitude to parenting.
