Zara Larsson is single after splitting from boyfriend Brian Whittaker.

The Swedish singer parted ways with model Brian as their relationship had "run its course", a source has said. They'd been together for two years, having met online.

"The split has been very upsetting for both Zara and Brian but the relationship had run its course," the insider told The Sun. "It’s been a tough few weeks."

Both Zara and Brian have alluded to the breakup on social media in the past week. Hinting that she was looking forward to getting back out there, Zara posted: "When you get your heart broken but it’s OK because the street’s been waiting for you to be single again.” Brian meanwhile shared a post with the words: "S**t happens, relationships fail, you don’t get certain jobs right away but through self love and love you’ll be good.” The news comes three days after Zara announced that she is delaying the release of her second album. Fans will have to wait until 2020 to hear the record as the singer said this week that she wasn't satisfied with it and was heading back to the studio.

"I want to put songs on there that I LOVE and I'm just not there yet," she wrote on Instagram. "I promised myself to not compromise my music and I fucking won't."
