So we were a little surprised when we learned that the voice of young Simba was voiced by none other than Jonathan Taylor Thomas, otherwise known as Randy from Home Improvement.
The actor, who turns 34 on Tuesday, was an object of affection for a huge number of young Home Improvement fans, and it seems there’s more than one reason to hold onto that crush.
In 1994, he provided the voice of young Simba in hit Disney film The Lion King, and later lent his voice to Pinocchio in the 1996 film adaptation of The Adventures of Pinocchio.
Continuing in his Disney theme, he also starred in live-action films Man of the House, Tom and Huck and I’ll Be There.
As well as roles in Smallville and 8 Simple Rules, Thomas was recently seen on screen in Last Man Standing,a US sitcom that reunited him with former TV dad Tim Allen.
We didn’t think it was possible, but he just made our Disney favourite that little bit better.
