Following the shock news that a photographer who was killed while photographing the Canadian pop stars car on Tuesday night, the Biebs has decided to weigh in on the situation calling for tougher legislation to protect the likes of himself from the paparazzi.

And although he did offer his condolences to the deceased family, he also decided to use the incident as an example of celebrities needing more police protection against photographers.  

In a statement released today, Bieber said “While I was not present nor directly involved with this tragic accident, my thoughts and prayers are with the family of the victim”. He added “Hopefully this tragedy will finally inspire meaningful legislation and whatever other necessary steps to protect the lives and safety of celebrities, police officers, innocent public bystanders, and the photographers themselves.”

The paparazzo had been taking pictures of Bieber’s Ferrari in LA and was killed while crossing the road back to his own car.

International popstar Justin is no stranger to paparazzi interest and has been involved in several incidents most famously in November 2012 when Entertainment Tonight aired footage of the singer holding up traffic in Los Angeles to try and lose a paparazzo who had been following the singer as he drove down a LA street.
