TV presenter Emma Willis has opened up about the time her husband, boy band star Matt Willis, spent in rehab.
During an emotional interview for new behind-the-scenes series Fearne and McBusted, Emma told presenter Fearne Cotton how Matt entered rehab very early on in the couple’s relationship.
“He went to rehab when I’d known him for three months. We hadn’t known each other for very long and I was kind of in this whirlwind with him.
“You don’t really think about it, then more time goes along and he went in again”.
Emma continued: “This isn’t a kid that needs a couple of weeks break, it’s someone who genuinely has a problem”.
Matt was first admitted to rehab for alcohol abuse in 2005 and an addiction to cannabis in 2006.
The couple have two children, Isabelle (4) and Ace (2), and Emma spoke of how life is very different now Matt is clean.
“He’s very boring. I’ll take boring over the alternative. I’ll take the tattoos and the motorbikes over all the other stuff”.
McBusted was formed in November 2013 when the members of McFly and Busted came together to form a pop supergroup.
Fearne and McBusted begins this Wednesday May 21st at 9pm on ITV2.
