They are arguably this year’s most famous couple, but they won’t be spending the festive season together.
Robert Pattinson has reportedly backed out of plans to spend Christmas with Kristen Stewart.
Ouch.
The news comes as rumours circle Hollywood that Kristen slept with director Sean Penn for her part in Into The Wild.
Double ouch.
The Twilight stars have been working to get their romance back on track after Kristen’s affair with film director Rupert Sanders.
His loved ones are reportedly struggling to forgive Kristen for being unfaithful and have asked Robert to see them alone over the festive period.
“Rob’s mum wanted him to spend Christmas with them in London, and, before their trip to the UK, that had been his and Kristen’s plan,” an insider told Heat magazine.
“From London, they were then going to fly to Mexico for New Year. Rob’s family made it clear that they really want to see him over Christmas and, after the intense promotional tour for Twilight, Rob liked the idea of spending time alone with his family.”
Robert is said to be looking forward to catching up with his family and after Christmas he will fly to Australia to shoot his film The Rover.
Although he is excited about spending three months Down Under, the trip will put even more strain on his relationship.
So, no Kristen?
“Kristen is unlikely to be joining Rob in Australia and it looks like their Christmas plans are off, too. That leaves them in a difficult position.
“Rob has five films in the pipeline for 2013 and Kristen has work lined up, too. They’re both worried about how they’ll move forward not they’re no longer held together by Twilight.”
The actor has now apparently told Kristen some time apart should help them decide if they are meant to be together.
“He’s thinking about taking this time away from Kristen to figure out if he’s made the right decision in diving back into things again”
Well now, we don’t think that sounds too positive guys…
