Gillian Anderson, she of the X-Files fame, is set to star in a new RTÉ and BBC co-production entitled The Fall. The series will air on RTÉ1 from May 11th.
Despite the fact that the actress has worked on several series like Hannibal and Great Expectations, Anderson is still most famous for her role as Agent Scully in the X-Files.
The Fall is a new five part drama which revolves around a string of homicides in Northern Ireland.
When the PSNI is unable to close the case, they call in Anderson’s character Stella Gibson of the Metropolitan Police Service.
The series is essentially a race against time for the detectives who must track down the serial killer before he commits any more murders.
The series also features Irish stars Jamie Dornan as the serial killer and Emmet J. Scanlan who plays a detective.
No sign of David Duchovny then no? We live in hope.
