Former X-Factor star Rebecca Ferguson’s friend and rumoured partner Karl Dures has been arrested on drugs charges.
According to the Daily Mail, Rebecca had hoped to rekindle her romance with the father of her two eldest children after he stepped up to support her following the birth of her third child.
According to The Sunday People, the singer has been left ‘heartbroken’ by the arrest, which could see Dures face 14 years in prison if convicted in Liverpool Crown Court.
Karl has allegedly been charged with possessing Class B drug mephedrone, with intent to supply.
Ferguson has already faced a tough year, with the 28-year old revealing to Hello! magazine that her daughter Arabella’s father ended their relationship when she told him that she was pregnant. He also revealed that he had a girlfriend.
It was then that Karl supported his former girlfriend, giving the child his name:
“Karl has been a huge support, we’re really good friends. He was there for the birth and he has offered to adopt her and be her dad too.
“He has given her his name, which is lovely, so she will be the same as the other kids.”
Rebecca has not yet commented on the charges brought against Dures.
