KISS rocker Gene Simmons has been slammed today for comments made while promoting his new book, Me Inc.
The former bassist devotes one part of the book to how women have to choose between establishing a career and starting a family, instructing them to “stop depending on men”.
“Women should assume men will abandon them and thus devote their early lives to making money to support themselves. This is a very complex and difficult question to answer so I’m going to put it as simply as possible. Women: Stop depending on men,” he said.
“It’s as simple as that. Imagine there are no men in life. Find out that thing that you’re good for that makes the money and then get married and or have children from a position of strength.”
However, the comments have criticised by many, who branded his observation that women still depend on men as “ridiculous”.
