Why We Don’t Like This ‘Nice’ Perez Hilton

Now that Perez Hilton has turned from a bitchy blogger to an all around nice guy we're not digging his website anymore.

Her

Am I the only one who does not find Perez Hilton entertaining anymore? I have been an avid follower of his celebrity gossip website since I was sixteen but recently I hardly visit at all (maybe because I am so busy browsing Her.ie).

I stumbled upon Perez a year after the blogger established the website in 2005 and I loved his bitchy attitude but more importantly I adored the mean but witty nicknames he christened A-Listers with. His tendency to out gay celebrities like Neil Patrick Harris and Backstreet Boy Lance Bass drew huge numbers of visitors to the colourful blog for years.

His vendetta against stars such as Taylor Momson, Vanessa Hudgens and Kirsten Dunst were amusingly uncalled for and the lawsuits that followed were fantastic. In particular, I loved the suit taken against Perez by DJ Samantha Ronson after he suggested the cocaine found in Lindsey Lohan’s car in 2007 was hers.

Who can forget the time Will.I.Am allegedly beat up the blogger outside a music award show in Toronto and the video accounts from both parties that followed? Our teenage self ate up the drama and devoured every mind numbing detail.

Much to my dismay Perez vowed to never again call Jennifer Aniston ‘Maniston’ in 2010 and in an interview with Ellen DeGeneres he spoke of his decision to stop being mean. Correct me if I’m wrong but this was surely the main draw to his deliciously critical website?

“I’m going to do things differently on my website than I have in the past. I’m not going to call people nasty nicknames. I’m not going to go the mean route. I’m going to force myself to be funnier or smarter,” Hilton said.

It is safe to say I was absolutely devastated and this new Perez is a complete lick arse. Being mean was the only thing he had going for him. I miss the golden days of defamation and have struggled to feed my celebrity gossip addiction ever since. If Perez Hilton wants to change his persona, I guess that is his own business but I won’t be visiting to help him rebuild his conscience. I’ve been trawling Youtube and have found the perfect video for all of you other former fans to indulge in. Remember the better days of Perez Hilton by watching this dramatic account of the Will.I.Am incident back in 2009. Our drama quota has been reached for the week!
