Our favourite Roscommon man has admitted he doesn’t think he has the right ‘look’ to be a bad guy.
And you know what, Chris? You’re probably right…
O’Dowd hit it big Hollywood-style with his role as a charming police officer in the comedy Bridesmaids, which saw him win many hearts as the loveable leading man.
The 33-year-old believes that, although women are often attracted to a bad boy, they wouldn’t be so keen to see him take on the role.
“I don’t know… they do [like a bad boy] if they look like George Clooney. If they look like me, they want a nice guy,” he joked to the latest British edition of InStyle magazine.
It looks like the women won’t have an option either way as Chris is happily settled with UK television presenter Dawn Porter, the pair got married in August of this year.
Despite being off the market, he still rates high in the Her.ie office.
And Chris knows what makes him popular with the ladies.
“I love it [being a heartthrob], I think it’s great! No, I’m not a Hollywood heartthrob. I’ve been lucky enough to play characters that are very sweet and charming and I think women relate to that. As soon as I play a horrible character, I won’t be a heartthrob. That’s the difference,” he explained.
Ahh, we get it Chris…
Chris is currently starring in The Sapphires, a feel-good musical comedy about an indigenous Australian girl band.
