We have to hand it to tennis star Serena Williams, she’s a trooper. If we had experienced an injury like this, we probably would have just curled up into a ball on the court and cried our eyes out but Serena somehow managed to play on (like a boss!).
The Washington Post reports that Serena managed to get back on her feet during the Australian Open after she rolled her ankle pretty badly last week, however it was clearly still bothering her for the rest of the competition. Check it out:

Serena is clearly in pain
Serena’s ankle before the swelling kicks in
After she lost to Sloane Stephens in a quarterfinal match, she tweeted a picture of her insanely swollen ankle with the description “Ouch.” (You could say that again…)
“I’ve had a tough two weeks between the ankle, which is like this big every day,” she said.
“And my back,” she added.
Are you ready to see something disgusting?
Yep, that’s an ankle. Imagine the sheer pain of trying to hobble around on that for two weeks! Serena, you’re some woman for one woman. We salute your freakishly high treshold for pain. Feel better soon!
