TV legend Wendy Williams has called her $18k-a-month hospital ‘suffocating’, issuing a plea to ‘get out’.

The former TV presenter told NewsNation’s Banfield that she did not have the freedom to do ‘virtually anything’ at the assisted living facility, and now plans to end her guardianship.

“As far as where I am, I’m on the fifth floor. They call it the memory unit, so it’s for people who don’t remember anything.

“I have no idea, but I can tell you that it’s $18,000 a month, which is extremely expensive. And what do I have? I have a bedroom, a bathroom and a window,” she told Banfield.

The TV presenter declared: ‘I’m ready to get out of here. I’m ready to get out and get out of the guardianship. It’s suffocating, it’s very lonely.’

It was revealed in February 2023 that the US broadcaster had been diagnosed with progressive aphasia and frontotemporal dementia.

Williams was placed under the legal guardianship of court-appointed guardian Sabrina Morrissey in May 2022 due to her condition.

Morrissey takes care of the TV personality’s finances and health.

Williams stepped back from the spotlight in 2022 following complications with Graves’ disease.

At the time she shared her hopes to be ‘back on the Wendy show bigger and brighter than ever’.
