He’s been enjoying fame and fortune south of the equator for the last couple of months but Ronan Keating has revealed that he’d love to return to Irish TV screens and join his former manager Louis Walsh on X Factor UK.
The 35-year-old singer is already a judge on the Australian version of the show and although he’s been enjoying success with his latest album Fires, he’s yet to fully make his mark on home turf like Gary Barlow and Kian Egan – both former boyband singers – have.
Speaking to The Irish Sun, the Dubliner said: “Of course I would do The X Factor UK to be close to the kids. I go back (to Oz) in March and I’ll be doing shows in Australia. Then I’m back and we’re in talks about X Factor, so let’s see — in Australia, but not in the UK. I wish!”
Is Ro getting tips from X Factor reject Rylan?
And with rumours circulating that Simon Cowell is set to shake up the UK X Factor judging panel as a result of last years dismal viewing figures, maybe Ronan could be in with a chance. Louis does have some sort of magical hold over the media mogul after all!
Dad-of-three Ronan initially moved to Australia after the breakup of his marriage to Yvonne two years ago after she discovered he was having an affair with dancer Francine Cornell. He is now dating Aussie TV producer Storm Uechtritz whom he met on the hit reality TV show.
