Ouch.
Today’s episode of This Morning was an eventful one as co-presenters Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield linked in with the Loose Women ladies to see what was coming up on the afternoon show.
The chat show panel which included Ruth Langsford and Katie Price explained there were a couple of topics planned including the rather unusual combination of Christmas cake and cheese.
It was what came next that really surprised viewers for the mother of five went on to say that Holly should try the cake because she’s “losing far too much weight”.
disgusting the comment katie price made to holly about her weight, body shaming is never ok #ThisMorning

katie was eating a cake on loose women when they did the “what are the loose ladies up to” link and katie was like holly you should have some of this you’ve lost far too much weight” and holly looked so upset

Holly chose not to respond to this remark and instead she and Phillip thanked the ladies for their time.
However, viewers didn’t hold back on their feelings and took to Twitter to criticise Katie for commenting on Holly’s weight.
Can’t believe Katie’s comment about Holly’s weight, how rude! #thismorning

I hope @loosewomen make her apologise to @hollywills! Such a rude and unnecessary comment, Well done Holly for handling it with such class and professionalism- Katie should take lessons from you there! #ThisMorning #LooseWomen https://t.co/IulUnmflKv

Katie Price can actually do one. Telling Holly Willoughby she’s lost too much weight. How incredibly rude. #ThisMorning #KatiePrice #HollyWilloughby

Beyond me why Katie Price felt the need to comment on Holly Willoughby’s weight on live TV. Rude. #ThisMorning

Little jab at Holly there from Katie Price. All about body confidence on @loosewomen but then having a go about her weight. It’s just as bad to mention someone being too skinny as it is to say they’re too big ? #ThisMorning

Katie Price body shaming Holly Willoughby on live tv! ? Saying someone is losing too much weight is just as bad as saying someone is gaining too much weight. #ThisMorning #LooseWomen

As you can see from the above tweets, people were far from impressed with Katie’s words and some even suggested she should apologise to Holly.
However, when Loose Women did kick off, it was a difficult one for Katie as she had hoped to discuss her mum’s illness, idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, but found it too difficult to talk about on air.
Katie was hoping to raise awareness of the terminal lung condition after the news of Keith Chegwin’s death yesterday, with the comedian fighting a long-term battle with the same illness.
However, as she started to talk, Katie was overcome with emotion as she told people watching at home how the condition is incurable and her mum is “getting worse”.
Finding it too difficult to carry on, she left her seat helped by fellow panellist Ruth Langsford.
We’re looking after @KatiePrice today. She wanted to come on today and talk about her mum and lung disease to raise awareness and help other people. We have helplines here >> https://t.co/gTVVzbWpa8 pic.twitter.com/fU9slCVxVr

Thank you for all the love for @KatiePrice today. She wanted to pay tribute to her friend @keithchegwin and raise awareness for lung disease but it’s obviously an upsetting subject with her mum Amy’s illness. We are looking after her. https://t.co/gTVVzbWpa8
