Victoria Beckham has reached a turning point in her life and career, revealing that she no longer feels the need to be in the public spotlight.
Reflecting on her journey in an interview with Harper’s Bazaar, the former Spice Girl and renowned fashion designer shared how, after turning 50, she’s let go of the thrill of celebrity status.
Instead she is focused on a quieter, more purposeful path – one that’s also setting the stage for her daughter, Harper.
Looking back, Victoria admitted that there was a time when she enjoyed the attention of the paparazzi.
In her Spice Girls heyday and during her early years with David Beckham, the glamour and excitement of being a style icon were an undeniable part of her life.
“It used to be fun to go out and be chased by paparazzi,” she said. “I would dress knowing I was going to get photographed.”
But that phase has passed and now, Victoria values privacy and discretion above the public recognition she once enjoyed, explaining: “I woke up at 50, and I just gave a s*** less.”
Her want to step away from the celebrity spotlight doesn’t mean she’s leaving the public eye entirely – instead, she’s approaching it on her own terms.
The evolution of her brand has become her focus, with her Netflix documentary serving as a reflection of her identity as an entrepreneur and designer rather than as a celebrity personality.
Victoria explained: “It’s slightly more targeted on the entrepreneur, the designer of the brand. It’s not going to be as personal. This is very fashion-focused.”
As Victoria chooses a more low-key lifestyle, attention is shifting toward her 13-year-old daughter, Harper, who is quietly preparing to make her own mark in the industry.
It’s no secret that Harper has expressed a keen interest in following in her mum’s fashion-forward footsteps.
According to Victoria, Harper has dreams of “creating an amazing brand” when she’s older, and her parents are supporting her aspirations with a gradual introduction to the world of fashion and media.
Behind the scenes, Victoria and David have taken steps to secure Harper’s potential future by setting up a business entity, H7B Limited – named after Harper’s full name, Harper Seven Beckham.
Although it’s not an immediate launch into the public sphere, this structure is in place to support any future endeavors Harper may pursue.
A source close to the Beckhams shared: “Right now, this is purely an administrative thing. David and Victoria have no immediate plans for anything commercial. It’s simply an exciting and fun option for Harper further down the line.”
