Vanessa Hudgens and Austin Butler reportedly split after almost nine years together

A sad day for the celeb couple obsessed among us.

Vanessa Hudgens and Austin Butler have reportedly split up. The High School Musical star and Once Upon A Time in Hollywood actor have seemingly called quits on their relationship after almost nine years together. According to Us Weekly, the couple didn't spend Christmas together, initially sparking rumours that they had split up. A source has since confirmed to the publication that their relationship had, indeed, ended. “Vanessa and Austin are officially broken up, and Vanessa has been telling those close to her about their breakup," they said. Hudgens and Butler began dating back in 2011. They first met on the set of High School Musical in 2005 when Vanessa was still dating fellow co-star Zac Efron. Vanessa and Zac ended their five year relationship in 2010, and The Princess Switch star began dating Austin soon after. The couple were last spotted together in October of last year, when Vanessa shared a photo of them together on Halloween. Austin did not appear to be present for Vanessa's birthday in December, nor did the pair spend New Year's Eve together. In 2018, Hudgens told Women's Health that she was in no rush to tie the knot or start a family. "I want to get married, travel, then have kids — probably in my late 30s," she said. "Everyone's clock is different." Butler said last summer that he loved Hudgens "to his core." He had recently been cast as Elvis Presley in an upcoming Baz Luhrmann film. "It’s hard for me to even put into words what that girl means to me," he told E! News. "I am so inspired by her every day and I just love her to my core."
