Brian McFadden is no stranger to causing controversy on Twitter and last night, he was forced to issue an apology to his followers after he made a comment about domestic violence that rubbed some people up the wrong way.
The Sunday World reports that Brian made the following comment after there was a flurry of tweets about a man who physically assaulted his female companion at a popular bar near Bondi Beach in Australia.
Witnesses to the incident immediately took to the social networking website and recounted the details of how a man had been arrested after he slapped his female companion in the face in front of everyone in the bar.
However, not everyone “got” what Brian was trying to say with his tweet and the former Westlife singer soon found himself caught up in a storm of angry tweets.
“Wow. Just wow. Can I suggest you get a little education into these issues before tweeting like that,” one angry follower responded to McFadden.
Brian immediately issued an apology stating:
But, it wasn’t enough to calm down some the other users on his Twitter feed.
“Brian, may I suggest you assist and support your ‘friend’ rather than make these types of comments on Twitter?” another user responded.

This isn’t the first time that Brian has received a bit of backlash on Twitter. He was inundated with messages when he lashed out at his ex-wife Kerry Katona, calling her a “pig-faced mole” after she suggested that he didn’t see enough of his kids.
