Natalie Cassidy has revealed that she is set to tie the knot with her former fiancé Adam Cottrell.
The ex-EastEnders star has agreed to marry her partner again despite the fact that he assaulted her.
Natalie, who called off the engagement back in 2011, says that she has had a lot of time to think about her role in what happened.
The actress revealed she is engaged again.
Speaking to The Mirror, she explained: “Adam’s behaviour was unacceptable, but so was mine. I can see that now. I often lashed out physically at him when arguments weren’t going my way. I would hit him or slap him out of frustration and anger.
“For a long time he never reacted but I pushed and pushed and eventually he pushed back… In hindsight there’s no getting away from it… I was to blame too.”
The couple at an awards show back in 2010.
She added: “I am not condoning any of it, his behaviour was totally unacceptable, but I have to admit I played a part in it, a big part. My behaviour was unacceptable too… (And) I am so glad we gave it another shot because I love him.”
Adam apparently sought Natalie’s dad’s permission before he asked the actress if she would consider wearing her ring and agreeing to marry him again.
As if the wedding isn’t enough, she also said that she wants to be pregnant by the end of the year. The couple are parents to a two-year-old daughter called Eliza.
