Travis Kelce may have gotten a few singing lessons from Taylor Swift.

The NFL star teamed up with his brother and fellow football player, Jason, to cover the Pogue’s Fairytale of New York for charity – but with a twist.

The duo changed it to Fairytale Of Philadelphia for the festive album A Philly Special Christmas Special.

In a clip posted to promote their duet, the Kelces are seen as claymation-style puppets who take to the stage to perform together.

The song sees the two siblings serenade each other in alternating verses, with the inclusion of the line; You’re the king of South Philly – Travis being the Kansas City Chiefs tight end and Jason playing centre for the NFL’s Philadelphia Eagles.

While the way Travis and Jason pronounce Galway leaves much to be desired, the two still display a rather impressive vocal display.

So impressive that Shane MacGowan’s wife, Victoria Mary Clarke took notice and dubbed it “Not a bad version!” on X, formerly Twitter.

In another clip posted on Instagram, Jason explains the idea behind their cover saying: “It’s like two people fighting, but then they really love each other. That kind of works really good for our relationship.

“I think it could be a look at the relationship of two brothers and how much you’re wrapped up in your family’s lives and how much that impacts where you end up in life.”

While Kansas City Chiefs player Travis has been making headlines in the music world for his rumoured relationship with pop star Taylor Swift, this marks the first time he has ventured into releasing his own music.

The two have opted to keep many details of their relationship a secret but the 34-year-old opened up about how he’s handling the extra attention.

Speaking on his podcast New Heights, Travis said: “We’re learning with the paparazzi taking photos from all over the place.

“But at the same time… You’ve got a lot of people who care about Taylor, and for good reason. You’ve just got to keep living and learning and enjoying the moments.”
