Top Tv Crushes of The Noughties

The noughties will be remembered for many reasons, not least the beautiful men who lit up the small screen for us during the decade. Priorites? What?

Rebecca McKnight

We’re barely out of the noughties and we’re already looking back fondly on the men who made television worth watching for the decade. Far less embarrassing than our choices from the nineties, we’ve learned that our taste, like wine, gets better with age. Here is Her.ie’s pick of the top five TV crushes of the noughties…

Chad Michael Murray – He may have first appeared in Dawson’s Creek, but it was the 2003 launch of One Tree Hill that really brought cutie Chad Michael Murray to our attention. Murray played Lucas Scott, half-brother to his rival Nathan Scott, played by James Lafferty. While starring on the show he also made some teen movies we LOVED – Freaky Friday with Lindsay Lohan and A Cinderella Story with Hillary Duff. Murray is set to star in horror movie ‘The Haunting in Georgia’ later this year.

Adam Brody – Ben Mc Kenzie made the headlines as brooding bad boy of The OC Ryan Atwood, but it was Adam Brody as oh-so-sweet character Seth Cohen that captured our hearts. From 2003 to 2007 his on/off romance with Rachel Bilson’s Summer Roberts had us hooked. His movie career since the series ended hasn’t exactly been stellar, but he is set to appear in the much-hyped ‘Lovelace’ later this year. It’s about a porn star don’t cha know…

Milo Ventimiglia – Before his Heroes days with former flame Hayden Panettiere, Milo Ventimiglia spent four seasons in The Gilmore Girls. He played Jess Mariano, a bad boy who had a complicated relationship with Rory Gilmore. His character was due to have his own spin-off show but it was cancelled before it was ever aired. Instead he found huge success with Heroes, so it’s all good. We’ll see him next in Adam Sandler and Andy Samberg vehicle ‘That’s My Boy’, due out in September.

Dave Annable – We tuned in to Brothers and Sisters to see what brought Calista Flockhart back to our screens after Ally Mc Beal, but we stayed for Dave Annable. His turn as Justin Walker, the black sheep of the Walker family, proved yet again that when it comes to bad boys we just couldn’t help ourselves. If you’re missing him since Brothers and Sisters ended, don’t worry. He’ll be back on the small screen soon with upcoming drama series 666 Park Avenue.

Julian Mc Mahon – You might remember him from such childhood staples as ‘Home and Away’, but it was back at the beginning of the noughties that Julian Mc Mahon joined the cast of Charmed. Playing half-human/half-demon Cole Turner, he had Alyssa Milano’s character Pheobe weak at the knees, and we were the same. He went on to play Christian Troy in Nip Tuck for the rest of the noughties and we still would… just saying.
