Top 10 Celebrity Power Couples We Love

Forget all about Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. Don't bother with Jay-Z and Beyonce. Here are the top ten celebrity power couples we really rate.

Rebecca McKnight

You know those celebrity couples that have it all: good looks, great jobs and what seems like the best relationship ever.

Well at Her.ie we thought, rather than being jealous of them, we’d celebrate our favourite power couples – I know, I know: we’re so nice.

But forget Brad and Angelina and Jay-Z and Beyonce. Here are the power couples you should really be looking out for.

1. Kate Middleton and Prince William

We just had to include these two. They are royalty after all! Ever since they met at St Andrew’s University in Scotland, people have been dreaming of a royal wedding. Now that that’s over, we’re on the edge of our seats with anticipation for the pitter patter of tiny royal feet. We also love how he wants to protect her but lets her shine in all her sophisticated and trend-setting glory!

2. Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson

They are the epitome of young Hollywood and just pipped Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth to the post to make it onto our list. Having met on the set of one of the most popular book/film franchises of recent years, the two are now busy building their own separate film careers. Her.ie have a feeling they’re going to be the next Brangelina except they’ll be called Robsten! So maybe we’ll abandon the whole merging of names thing.

3. Miranda Kerr and Orlando Bloom

Aside from being one of the most attractive couples ever, supermodel Miranda Kerr and Hollywood heartthrob Orlando Bloom also have probably the cutest celebrity baby ever! We love how they’ve kept their relationship under wraps and always seem to make time for one another. But let’s face it if we were dating Orlando Bloom, or Miranda Kerr for that matter, we’d make time too!

4. Amy Huberman and Brian O’Driscoll

The list wouldn’t be complete with at least one Irish couple. Asides from looking head-over-heels in love with each other, we love that Brian O’Driscoll wasn’t afraid to admit to the world that he asked mutual friends to arrange an ‘accidental’ meeting with the gorgeous Irish actress. We just think that this is the sweetest confession we’ve ever heard and would love for someone to say it about us!

5. Jessica Biel and Justin Timberlake

As one of the most understated celebrity couplings out there at the moment, Jessica Biel and Justin Timberlake prove that you will always come back to your true love. Having broken up briefly last year, the two are now engaged and planning their wedding which we’re sure will be full of music and film’s hottest stars. We’re also hoping for an invitation as we’ve included them on this very prestigious list!

6. Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban

We were so happy for Nicole when she married country singer Keith Urban, despite mourning her marriage to Tom Cruise for way longer than is deemed reasonable. Then when it came out that her new hubby was struggling with alcohol and drug addiction, we couldn’t help but feel for her. Thanks to her love and support, they both got through it and have never looked happier. As she sings in Moulin Rouge, “Come what may…” (we’re fighting back the tears).

7. Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck

Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck are the perfect image of a happy family with their three children. Despite their success, they seem really down-to-earth and are always smiling. We were so happy to see them finally get together after the whole Bennifer (as in Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck) saga.

8. Calista Flockhart and Harrison Ford

This power couple prove that age is but a number. Despite a 22-year age gap, Ally McBeal’s leading lady (such a good show back in the day) and the man who plays movie icon Indian Jones work really well together. In fact, we think they are one of the nicest couplings in Hollywood.

9. Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin

Despite being huge stars each in their own right, Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow seem like two ordinary people just living their not so ordinary lives. I mean she cooks for goodness sake! And also admits that it’s hard to maintain her fabulous figure. At Her.ie there’s nothing we love more than honesty… or food for that matter! Gwyneth, will you come visit us please?

10. Rita Wilson and Tom Hanks

It’s surprising when a celebrity marriage lasts five years never mind almost 25 years. Rita Wilson and Tom Hanks, who met on the set of Volunteers back in 1985 have one of the longest marriages in Hollywood. Hats off!

Do you have a power couple that can rival our picks? If you think you do, leave us a comment and say why you think they deserve a place on our list.
