Music icon Tina Turner has sadly passed away at the age of 83. The singer died following a long illness, her publicist announced this evening. They issued a statement following the 'Proud Mary' singer's death. "Tina Turner, the “Queen of Rock’n Roll” has died peacefully today at the age of 83 after a long illness in her home in Kusnacht near Zurich, Switzerland," they told PA.

"With her, the world loses a music legend and a role model," they added.
