The Weird Truth About Dakota Johnson’s Pubic Hair In Fifty Shades

For those who saw Fifty Shades, it’s pretty safe to say you probably feel like you know Dakota Johnson’s body better than your own. Well, apparently not, if cinematographer Seamus McGarvey is to be believed. Speaking as part of a panel discussion with The New York Times, McGarvey revealed that Johnson was not quite as nude as we thought for a number of her scenes. While it’s been documented that Dornan used a penis pouch to protect his modesty for most of the sex scenes, McGarvey revealed that Dakota wore modesty protecting underwear: "[she] had kind of a patch that went over her pubic area, and right round her whole body. "We were in the curious situation, in postproduction, of adding [pubic hair]. I wouldn't say it was one of the highlights of my career, but it certainly was one of the most surreal scenarios." McGarvey also revealed that Dakota had a bum double for the belt-spanking scene, while some of the whipping action was also digitally created.
