Voice of Ireland contestant Kelly Mongan has recorded her version of the winner’s single for the show’s finale tomorrow night… and she’s hoping her baby will stay put for the time being.

The Cork brunette was due to give birth on Monday but there’s been no sign of the baby yet and she’s still hoping to sing on tomorrow’s final of the talent show, the Irish Sun reports.

“There’s no movement yet and I feel good, but if the baby decides to come, there’s not a lot you can do,” the 18-year-old told the paper.

“I will have gone as far as I can possibly go in the show and whatever happens, I know I want a future in music and to provide for my baby.”

Kelly has been named favourite to win the show, but she’s worried the odds could go against her.

“It’s nice to be named favourite but I don’t want people to think I am safe or anything,” she said.

“I’m just enjoying everything and no matter what happens, I know I want to sing now in the future and make a career in it if possible.”

A heavily pregnant Kelly has reached tomorrow’s grand finale.

Kelly will join Keith Hanley, Shane McLaughlin and Shannon Murphy in the final on Sunday in a bid to land a recording contract with Universal Music.

“I don’t think anyone can call who is going to win, it could be anyone left. Everyone is so good and so different, the prize is anyone’s really.

“I have made so many new friends and it’s an experience I will never forget,” she added.

“Kian is protective of me and has been great.

“My family were all mad about him when he came to Cork this week and couldn’t believe how down to earth he is.

“We had a bit of a baby shower and he brought a gift of a nappy hamper, it was a lovely day.”

Kelly will perform with Saturdays singer Una Healy tomorrow night and has decided that she will sing an Elton John number for her last performance.

“Whatever happens, it has been the journey of a lifetime,” she said.
