The Top Ten List of Irish Power Couples

From Amy Huberman and Brian O'Driscoll to Chris O'Dowd and Dawn Porter, find out who has made it onto our list of the best Irish power couples.

Rebecca McKnight

When we got to thinking about our favourite celebrity power couples, it made us think about the power couples who operate a little closer to home.

So the Her.ie team set about creating another list for power couples, like Amy Huberman and Brian O’Driscoll, who are either all Irish or partly Irish.

1. Amy Huberman and Brian O’Driscoll

Making it onto our other power couples list, we just had to kick off with this match made in heaven. He’s a burly Irish rugby player with more muscles than sense and she’s a gorgeous Irish actress with the film world at her feet. Enough said.

2. Bono and Ali Hewson

Having been married for 28 years with four kids, it’s no wonder why we’re including this power couple on our list. As one of the longest standing celebrity marriages, these two clearly can’t lie with or without each other.

3. Una Healy and Ben Foden

So he might not be our favourite person at the moment after his stag do shenanigans but we do like how Una Healy has held her own throughout everything. Also, whoever can produce a child as cute as Aoife deserves a place on our list!

4. Michael Fassbender and Nicole Beharie

So it’s going to break at lot of hearts, including our own Amy Wall’s, but this romance is most certainly no Shame! See what I did there? They met on the set of the film Shame…anyway we see big things for this Hollywood couple.

5. Laura Whitmore and Danny O’Reilly

With her looks and his musical talent, any kids these two have will be sorted! Television presenter Laura Whitmore and Coronas frontman Danny O’Reilly have been together since last year.

6. Robbie Keane and Claudine Palmer

These two are like something out of the latest teen movie. Captain of the soccer team meets the beauty queen contestant. The two fall in love and live a life filled with underwear shoots and team transfers. So not quite a fairy-tale but fabulous nonetheless!

7. Chris O’Dowd and Dawn Porter

These two have sort of come out of nowhere as one of our favourite ever couples. They both seem so down to earth and we love the fact that Dawn is determined to have the wedding she wants as opposed to just following tradition. Plus, Chris in Bridesmaids – so cute!

8. Vogue Williams and Brian McFadden

While he rose to fame in one of the most successful boy bands ever, she is best known for her DJ-ing and of course Fade Street which sort of makes us cringe in a it’s-so-bad-it’s-good kind of way. Still, we can’t wait to see the wedding!

9. Kian Egan and Jodi Albert

Two-for-one on Westlife members! Kian married singer and actress Jodi Albert back in 2009 and the two recently added to their family in the shape of son Koa. So it’s not necessarily our name of choice but still, we won’t hold that against them.

10. Patrick Kielty and Cat Deeley

We just had to include someone with a bit of northern charm. Comedian Patrick Kielty and television presenter Cat Deeley have been friends for years but just recently took their relationship to the next level. We have all our fingers and toes crossed that it works out!

Don’t see your favourite Irish power couple? Think one of these couples shouldn’t be on the list? Get in touch with Her.ie now, we’d love to hear from you.
