Earlier this year, rumours of a Spice Girls reunion were widespread.
We loved them 20 years ago, we still love them so the rumours were more than welcome.
At the time Mel B said:
“I think it’s our 20th year next year so we’re going to be doing something at some point with hopefully all of us.”
Reminiscing about her time in the girl group she added, “I think once you’ve had a taste of that you’ll always strive for that high.”
“I mean there’s nothing like getting up on stage and performing live to your fans and to a great crowd. You can’t beat that. So I’m always wanting that feeling back.”
Sadly, the rumours were squashed by Victoria who rejected the idea.
We put it to the back of our minds.
So we never expected that we would spontaneously be gifted with a new track.
Alas, the rumours are only partly true, only Emma, Geri and Mel B have reformed and created GEM.
Their new song, Song for Her is reminiscent of their #GirlPower ideals of the early 90s and we’re not ashamed to say we absolutely love it.

Fans have noticed that the song fades at the 3-minute mark which may seem insignificant but it’s actually a Eurovision requirement.
The trio have yet to confirm the rumours.
