We were sure that God or celebrity mammies had to be the most thanked people in Oscar history, but a new study released this week proved us very wrong indeed.
According to an analysis carried out by Vocativ of 1,396 acceptance speeches at the awards, Stephen Spielberg is in fact the number one person to be thanked.
Elsewhere in the top five saw Harvey Weinstein, James Cameron, George Lucas and Peter Jackson, with God coming in in sixth place.
