The Handmaid's Tale's Yvonne Strahovski has announced she is expecting her first child. The 35-year-old announced her happy news on social media on Friday night, which showed her cradling her baby bump. She wrote:

“I am very excited to finally be able to share my special news – I’m going to be a Mama! “So very exciting to watch & feel this little Peanut growing every day!”

The couple, who have been together for more than six years after meeting on the set of Chuck, got married in a ceremony in Northern California. And as she hit the red carpet for the Emmys, she told E! News:

"Yes I got married, it was over the summer. "There was a heatwave. "We ended up jumping in the lake in our suit and gown, just to cool down. "It was ridiculously hot. But we had a great time."

Her husband, who is also an actor, said that the ceremony was "fantastic" - even with the heatwave. He added:

"But we all made it through, we all did some dancing at the end of the night, it was fantastic."
