“The cancer is gone!”: Daniel O’Donnell Reveals that Wife Majella is on the Road to Recovery

Daniel O’Donnell has revealed that his wife Majella is free from cancer less than a month after he announced that she was undergoing treatment.

“Thank God with early intervention and surgery the cancer is gone now and it is a matter of further treatment” he told the Donegal Democrat.

The renowned Irish singer had asked people to pray for his wife of 11 years rather than send letters and cards.

“It can be beaten and I thank God that Majella is on the road to recovery” he said to the paper.

A native of Donegal, O'Donnell described the moment he found out about his wife's illness as one of the most terrifying experiences in his life.

Daniel, 51 and Majella, 53 married back in 2002. She has two children from her previous marriage.

“It’s just so important to me that we will be together for a long, long time - the rest of our lives” he said.
