The singer returned to her alma matter, Edinburgh’s Queen Margaret University, to receive an honorary doctorate for her contribution to the creative industries.
Boyle was the runner-up in the 2009 final of ‘Britain’s Got Talent’, and has gone on to sell over 18 million albums worldwide. ‘I Dreamed A Dream’, a musical based on the life of the Scottish singer, played in Dublin last April.
