His parents might be used to having to deal with extra time but we’re sure that Shakira and Gerard Piqué were relieved to welcome their son into the world last night.
The singer, who was taken into a hospital in Barcelona to have the baby induced yesterday, was expecting to give birth in the afternoon but it wasn’t until half nine that the little one arrived.
The couple welcomed their first child late last night in Barcelona.
A statement for the couple, who have named their new arrival Milan Piqué Mebarak, said that “both mother and child are in excellent health.”
And it looks as if he might turn out to be a football star just like his father as he is already a member of his club: “Just like his father, baby Milan became a member of FC Barcelona at birth.”
Shakira seemed to enjoy showing off her bump throughout the pregnancy.
We have to say that while we are very excited to hear this news, we are desperate to see a few pictures. With parents like his, we’re sure he’s a real cutie already!
