Tennis legend Martina Navratilova is to marry her girlfriend Julia Lemigova, after proposing at the US Open.
The 57-year-old star was working at the New York tournament when she agreed to take part in an interview during her break. Navratilova then used the opportunity to go down on one knee and offer an engagement ring to her 42-year-old girlfriend, who instantly said ‘yes’.
According to People Magazine, the couple’s engagement was broadcast on the U.S. Open Jumbotron at Arthur Ashe Stadium and Navratilova later took to Twitter to share her joy.
