A source close to Jenelle revealed that the couple had a brutal fight and Gary beat her up and tried to strangle her with a bed sheet.
The reality star is said to be terrified of him and filed a restraining order because she fears for her safety.
A source said: “Jenelle is afraid of Gary.”

“She was viciously attacked by him and she is really frightened that he is going to come after her again, that’s why she got the restraining order.”
The restraining order prevents Gary from contacting Jenelle in person or through a third party.
“She doesn’t ever want to talk to Gary again, she just hopes that he obeys the law and stays away from her,” the source says.
“She knows that the restraining order is just a piece of paper but she feels safer knowing that he can’t and shouldn’t come near her.”
Jenelle is seeking primary custody of her son Jace
Jenelle shot to fame when her teenage pregnancy was documented for MTV’s ‘16 and Pregnant’ in 2009.
The star was then commissioned to star in a spin off series ‘Teen Mom 2’, which has documented her struggles with drugs, boyfriends and her mother.
