A month after she arrived into his life, Robbie Williams has spoken out about his daughter’s dramatic birth.
The singer revealed that the process was rather traumatic as Theodora’s umbilical cord got caught around her neck.
Proud dad Robbie and his little bundle of joy, Theodora, also known as Teddy.
Robbie admits that he was terrified at the time but managed to keep his cool and cut the cord. He told The Sun newspaper: “I cut the cord but, bless her, I cut it while she was still inside Ayda.”
He added: “Teddy was going blue because the umbilical cord was caught around her neck… It was like the first 30 minutes of Saving Private Ryan down there.”
The singer and his partner Ayda Field had their first baby this year.
The former Take That star also talked about the respect that he has for women going through labour before saying that the father also has quite a time of it as well: “Every time Ayda had a contraction I thought, I can have gas and air too.”
But it all sounds as if it was worth it because Robbie is now a very proud father to little Teddy: “I don’t want to be anything other than a daddy and a husband. Life’s pretty perfect right now.”
Aww, how sweet!
