Tallafornia star Kelly Donegan has revealed the vicious online bullying she experiences on a daily basis since she started the Irish reality TV show.
“There’s always been a lot of begrudgery in Ireland unfortunately. I’ve been dealing with that for years,” the 23-year-old told the Irish Sun.
“I get a lot of silly slagging online, that’s a daily occurrence really. I just ignore it, I put it down to ignorance.
“But one particular girl sent me a message recently saying ‘You think you are just gorgeous, don’t you? You should just take the rope and end it’.
“That’s pretty vicious. It’s sometimes hard not to take it to heart, but overall I don’t get as much slagging as I did during the first series of Tallafornia.
“Most of the time people are really friendly and just up for the craic and I’m really grateful for that.
“And I’ve learned not to let it annoy me. I know who I am, so do my family and friends.”
The Tallafornia crew: Kelly doesn’t know if there’ll be a third series yet.
Kelly revealed she would prefer to distance herself from the show’s “party girl” image and her co-stars Nikita Murray and Natalie Geraghty.
“If there is a Season Three I’d do it, as long as the money is right,” she said.
“Doing something like Tallafornia is a great experience. In the beginning I treated it as a platform to promote myself and what I do.
“I have always wanted to have my own business and I have lots of goals, but I knew there was loads of Irish models who do photocalls and I wanted to have an edge.
“I saw it as a clever and different way of advertising myself and it was something new and exciting.
“Now that I have something of a profile I would need to make more money out of it though.
“I didn’t know what to expect first time around and now I look back and I cringe, of course.
“I think Season Two reflects my personality a lot, I’m very chilled out and easy going.
“I’m pals with all of the lads from the show as they are mates with Dave, but I’m not friends with Nikita or Natalie.
“I wouldn’t do any jobs with them or photoshoots or anything like that.
“I’d prefer to distance myself a little from the ‘party girl’ tag that they have.”
