Take That is back in the spotlight with their latest musical offering, the highly anticipated ninth studio album titled ‘This Life.’

Comprising Gary Barlow, Mark Owen, and Howard Donald, Take That promises a unique sound that places a special emphasis on their powerful vocals.

The excitement surrounding ‘This Life’ is not limited to the album, as Take That recently announced an extensive tour, spanning the UK and Ireland from April to June 2024.

‘This Life On Tour’ boasts an impressive 41 dates across 15 cities, with several nights scheduled at prominent venues such as London’s O2 Arena, Co-Op Live in Manchester, and Birmingham’s Utilita Arena.

They will be taking the tour across Ireland with performances scheduled for the 3Arena in Dublin, Ormeau Park in Belfast and Tramore Road in Cork.

Inspiration

The journey to ‘This Life’ began in 2021 when the band entered into discussions about new music.

However, it was the process of crafting the lead single, ‘Windows,’ that catalysed the creative momentum for the entire album.

Taking a unique approach, the album was recorded in various studios across the globe, allowing the band to immerse themselves in local cultures.

Locations included studios in Los Angeles, Barcelona, Nashville’s Historic RCA Studios A, and New York’s Electric Lady Studios.

The trio collaborated with nine-time Grammy-winning producer Dave Cobb, known for his work with artists like Lady Gaga and Barry Gibb.

The album also bears the influence of producer Jennifer Decilveo, who is recognised for her work with artists like Hozier and Miley Cyrus.

The tour

In a recent interview with Her.ie, Take That expressed their gratitude for the continued support of their fans, especially those in Ireland.

Gary Barlow acknowledged the excitement of going on tour nearly 33 years after their formation, and noted the continuous loyalty of their audience.

“We feel very fortunate,” he said. “I mean if someone would have said to us in the first year of being together that we would still be doing this 30 odd years later.

“It’s it’s just brilliant and you know what you it was only a really a couple of weeks ago that you know every time that you go on sale or you you know you’re announced at all.”

Mark Owen added, “It feels amazing, and what we need to do now is come and give them the best night of their lives next year, and that’s what we’re working towards, getting the show together now.”

Take That

Discussing their Irish fans, Gary emphasised their enthusiasm, stating: “They are loud, definitely loud.”

Mark then chimed in, expressing gratitude for the Irish audience’s loyalty and excitement about the upcoming tour.

Gary mentioned their first ever performance in Cork, highlighting their anticipation of the Irish audience’s energy in this uncharted territory.

“We played Ireland a lot over the years, but we’re actually going to be playing in Cork for the firs time and none of us have played there before – not even solo.

“It’s brand new town for us. We’re obviously playing Dublin in Belfast but cork is the new one so we’re hoping it’s going to be even more crazy there.”

As Take That prepares to embark on their ‘This Life On Tour,’ fans can expect not only a musical spectacle but a celebration of three decades of extraordinary harmonies, showmanship, and a bond with fans that has stood the test of time.
